'She ended up recording him'

Accusations have emerged against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, claiming she unlawfully recorded a conversation between herself and a defense attorney.
 

“She did reach out to us, one of my colleagues in Maryland, and was rude, abrupt with him on the phone, and he was dealing with the Maryland case and I was dealing with the Georgia case, and she ended up recording him,” Kachouroff said. 

RICO case

The pair is involved the RICO case against former President Donald Trump and his associates.

Attorney Christopher Kachouroff, representing a co-defendant of Trump, Harrison Floyd, revealed that Willis allegedly recorded the call with one of Kachouroff's colleagues from Maryland without their consent.

Among the individuals still involved in the case, Floyd, the creator of a group named Black Voices for Trump, is one of the 16 remaining co-defendants.
 

Maryland's Wiretap Act

Allegedly breaching Maryland's Wiretap Act, which prohibits recording private conversations without the consent of all parties and carries penalties of up to five years in prison and fines up to $10,000, contrasts with Georgia's law that only requires consent from one party. 
 

Sole Trump co-defendant

Floyd, the sole Trump co-defendant incarcerated in Fulton County, aims to relocate his trial to Coffee County. 
 

Willis' actions

His legal team contends that due to Willis' actions, Floyd cannot secure a fair trial in Fulton County.
 

Pursue all lawful remedies

Floyd responded on X to demand that Willis recuse herself from the case by Friday. “I may have no other choice than to pursue all lawful remedies,” he wrote.
 

Accused of misconduct

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been accused of misconduct, including an alleged extramarital affair with Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor paid $300,000 for work on the Trump case. 
 

Despite testimonies

Despite testimonies claiming the relationship started after Wade's hiring, a former employee stated it began in 2021.

Although Judge Scott McAffee did not immediately disqualify Willis, he has decided to revisit the case for further evidence in the future.
